WAY OF WALKING ALONE
de novo Art presents “Way of Walking Alone,” a collection of ten abstract expressionist paintings by Dino Valdez for ARTCLVB’s Detroit Warehouse Art & Design Fair.
The collection explores the teachings of legendary Japanese swordsman and philosopher Miyamoto Musashi (b. 1594-d. 1645), known for works such as “The Book of Five Rings.” Valdez relates Musashi’s philosophies to his personal journey, capturing the tension between tradition and personal truth, discipline and intuition, and form and formlessness in his practice.
